Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? Let’s put your mind at ease

I’ve never had a massage before. What should I expect?

No worries! Your first massage is all about making you feel comfortable and relaxed. When you arrive, I’ll take some time to chat with you about your needs and any areas you’d like me to focus on. You will lie down on a cozy massage table, and I’ll cover you with a towel and a soft blanket if you feel cold, exposing only the area being worked on. I will communicate with you to ensure that the massage feels right to you and that you are laying comfortable. You can always let me know if the pressure is too much, or if I am progressing too fast.

Do I have to be completely undressed?

Your comfort is my top priority, and you never have to be fully undressed. For all massages, you’ll always keep your underwear on. If we are focusing only on your back, you only need to remove your top. If we are working on your legs, you can leave your top on and you only remove your bottoms. For a full-body massage, you will simply remain in your underwear. You will always be covered with a blanket or towel, with only the area being worked on exposed. If you ever feel unsure or have any preferences, just let me know in advance.

What if I feel self-conscious about my body?

You’re not alone - many people can feel this way at first. My goal is to help you feel relaxed and cared for, without any judgment. I work with all body types, and this space is here for you to feel safe and comfortable. This is your time to feel good, just as you are.

Will the massage hurt?

In general, massage does not have to be painful, but some level of pain is to be expected. The pain is often an indicator that the affected area is tense or tender, which is when it often requires additional attention. Everyone is different and has a different pain perception. If the massage is too painful, you are more likely to tense up and that will ultimately work against me, therefore I have no reason to put you into more pain then you can handle or what is necessary. On a relative pain level scale from 1-10, where 1 means no pain/light touch and 10 means "I want to jump off the table", we should not be going over a 7 (8 maximum). This is why I check in with my clients often throughout the massage, especially when I am moving to a new muscle group or if I feel a tender/tense spot. You should be in control of the pressure that is being applied to you during a massage, you are the one who can feel when the pressure is being too much or too little. I always do my best to deliver what you want and I will ask to make sure that we are on the same wavelength. But in case you feel like it is too little or too much, do not be afraid to tell me. I’ll be happy to make any changes so you feel safe, supported, and cared for.

Can I talk during the massage?

Of course! Some people like to chat, while others prefer quiet relaxation. It’s completely up to you. This is your time, so do whatever helps you unwind the most. I’ll check in with you from time to time during the massage to make sure the pressure feels right. If you ever feel like I’m asking too often, we can also agree that I will not be asking as long as you make sure to let me know if I am going overboard with the pressure applied.

What if I fall asleep?

That’s perfectly normal - and a good sign! Falling asleep during a massage means you’re deeply relaxed. My aim is not to put you to sleep, but if it happens as a byproduct, there is no issue with it. I’ll make sure to gently wake you at the end of the session.

What should I do if I’m ticklish?

Being ticklish is more common than you might think! In those cases I apply firm, steady pressure quickly which helps to avoid triggering ticklish sensations. Let me know if you’re concerned, and I’ll adjust accordingly to keep you comfortable.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I completely understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, just let me know at least 24 hours in advance, and there will be no charge. However, if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, or if you do not show up for your appointment, a 50% of the agreed price will be charged to you. This policy ensures that I can offer appointments to other clients who may be waiting. If you ever need to reschedule, just reach out - I’m happy to find a new time that works for you!

How do I prepare for my massage?

There’s nothing special you need to do, just wear comfortable clothing and arrive ready to relax. If you are wearing a bra, please make sure it can be unhooked from the back. Please ensure you do not arrive dehydrated before your session as you might end up feeling dizzy during/after the massage. It’s also best to avoid eating a heavy meal right before your massage, as a full stomach might make it harder to fully relax. One important thing to keep in mind is to avoid taking painkillers (like ibuprofen) before your massage, unless it is absolutely necessary. Painkillers can make you less sensitive to pressure, which might result in a deeper massage than your body actually needs. This could lead to increased soreness the next day. Therefore please do not take a painkiller before a massage because you expect it to be painful. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort, just let me know so I can adjust the massage accordingly. If you have any questions before your session, feel free to reach out through a text. I want you to feel fully prepared and comfortable!

I feel nervous about booking. Can I talk to someone first?

Of course! If you are feeling unsure or anxious, you can always contact me by e-mail, or by the form on this website before booking a session. It’s a chance for you to ask questions, share any concerns, and get to know me before committing fully. I want you to feel completely at ease. If you would prefer to call me, you can do so from 8:00 to 9:00 from Monday - Friday and on Thursdays from 8:00 to 11:00. You are also welcome to call me during the opening hours, but there is a high chance that I might not be able to answer your call if I am with a client as my focus is fully directed towards them.

Do you speak Danish?

Not fluently yet - I’m still learning. All communication during the session will be in English, but I will always make sure to explain everything in clear and simple terms.
